From Decluttering To Carpet Cleaning – Ways To Give Your Home A Deeper Clean

Cleaning is a task that we all must take on if we want to live in a healthy, clutter-free and inviting environment. Chances are, there is at least some part of your daily routine that involves housework. While chores like vacuuming, dusting and mopping help to keep things fresh and tidy from day to day, once or twice a year your time should be devoted to a real deep clean that takes care of areas that often go overlooked and neglected during your regular cleaning procedures. Make sure to include these maintenance duties when preparing your deep clean checklist for an extra orderly and spotless home.

Declutter and Organize

The first steps to any serious cleaning is to get rid of unnecessary clutter and then organize what you are left with. If your counter, surfaces and floors are covered in chaos, it’s difficult to know where to even begin. It’s much easier to clean when everything you own is in its place rather than trying to maneuver around it.

Inspect your closets and drawers and purge all articles of clothing that no longer fit or you know you won’t wear. Organize kitchen and bathroom cabinets so you can clearly view all items and donate extra food or dispose of expired products. Sift through papers, books, magazines, toys and other miscellaneous stuff to eliminate the excess and put the rest into order.

Replace Air Filters

Checking and replacing the air filters in your heating and cooling system every once in awhile goes a long way in improving the indoor air quality of your home. Dirty air filters can make your ventilation system run insufficiently and trigger health problems for those in your household. Installing HEPA filters will help to cut down on the air pollution infiltrating your residence and make it easier to breathe again.

Disinfect Appliances and Their Surroundings

You may wipe down your stove and microwave every now and then, but do you make it a point to pull up your sleeves and thoroughly clean out other appliances like the dishwasher, refrigerator and oven? How about underneath and behind? These are places dirt and dust are sure to accumulate between deep cleanings. Your appliances will also run better if their vents aren’t clogged.

Get a Carpet Cleaning

No matter how dedicated you are to vacuuming and spot cleaning, a professional carpet cleaning is the only way to extricate all the dirt, dust, allergens and other pollutants that have drifted to settle deep within the carpet fibers. Carpets look nice and add plushness to any home, but over time, if they are not properly maintained they will begin to show unattractive signs of wear and tear, lose structural integrity and cause unpleasant odors to develop. For a truly efficient deep clean, move your furniture aside and schedule a carpet cleaning that will leave you with immaculate floors.

Deep cleaning takes some preparation and commitment, but once the disarray is gone, you’re breathing in fresh air from new filters, your appliances are sparkling and a carpet cleaning has your floors bright and deodorized, life can get back to a happy, healthy state again.
